Bella and Edward are now a couple and very happy. In this second novel, many events happen. Bella is more in love with Edward then ever, but apparently, Edward thinks Bella is too good for him. Sadly, the Cullen’s then leave Forks, Washington. Bella is beside herself, thinking Edward doesn’t love her any more. After Edward leaves, Bella’s life is nothing.
After four months of no Edward, Bella is just a lifeless blob. Then, a friend of Charlie’s, Billy, and his son Jacob, come over. Bella finds a friend in Jacob and they start to spend a lot of time together. They do homework after school and secretly ride motorcycles behind Charlie’s back. But when Bella sees some boy’s cliff jumping, she wants to try.
Jacob will take her cliff jumping, but Bella jumps without him there. Luckily, he comes to save her after she jumps. Meanwhile, Alice Cullen, Edwards’s sister, sees Bella jump in one of her visions. Rosalie, another sister, isn’t a big fan of Bella so she tells Edward that Bella has killed herself.
In this second book of the saga, for me and a lot of others, I think it was a hard read. But you have to read this book to get to the next book, Eclipse.

Revised Twilight book review
Twilight
Book By: Stephenie Meyer
Book Review By: Greta
Bella Swan is just a normal teenager who is living with her dad, Charlie in Forks, Washington. She just moved there from Phoenix where she was living with her mother. On her first day in rainy Forks, Washington, she takes her new truck to her new high school. She meets one girl, Jessica, and a boy, Mike, that really seems to like her. She is sitting with them at lunch and when Bella glances across the cafeteria and sees the Cullen’s. They are the most beautiful people in the whole school. Jessica explains that they’re Emmet, Jasper, Edward, Alice, and Rosalie Cullen. They were all adopted by the town doctor, Dr. Cullen and his wife, Esme. When Edward catches Bella’s eye at lunch, she automatically knows she’s in love.
But is seems Edward doesn’t feel the same way. In science, Edward sits next to her, but on the very edge of the seat. Bella is crushed and wonders why he doesn’t like her. The truth is that Edward is just trying to hide his enemy from her, himself. But Edward just can’t resist.
It this romance novel, Bella Swan truly meets Edward Cullen and his family secret. During this novel, Edward has to fight his biggest fear to save his true love, himself. I loved this first book! It kept my turning pages for hours.

Real Eclipse Book Review
Eclipse
Book By: Stephenie Meyer
Book Review By: Greta
In this third book of the saga, Edward is back and Bella is happy. But she wants to see Jacob again. Since vampires and werewolves are mortal enemies, Edward doesn’t really want her over with Jacob and his pack, they might be dangerous. Finally Bella convinces that the pack has never hurt her and gets to visit every once in a while. Meanwhile, in Seattle, there have been many murders going on and the killer just won’t stop.
Alice, Edwards’s sister, has been having visions of seeing Victoria, the vampire who wants Bella dead. After following several clues, Bella and Edward find out that Victoria is responsible for all the killings in Seattle and she has a whole army of young vampires. And they are out to kill, Bella precisely. Victoria was very close friends with James, who Edward killed in the first book and now is out to kill Bella as revenge.
Together, out of jealousy, Jacob and Edward have to fight together to protect Bella and save her from the huge army of vampires. But can they finish and kill Victoria before it’s too late? I think this book is the best out of the four. It hooks you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go until the end.

Book Review By: Greta
Bella and Edward are now a couple in the second book of this romantic series and Edward is the only thing on Bella’s mind. And throughout the school year, Edward decides that it would be best if he leaves Bella. Well, Bella is thinking the exact opposite. When Edward tells Bella that he and family is leaving, he goes with her for a walk in the woods. He tells her and leaves. Bella is just so shocked, that she walks around the woods aimlessly, until her father, Charlie, and a few other boys find her lying in the middle of the woods.
After that, Bella’s life is nothing without Edward. She’s just a lifeless lump without him. After about four months without Edward, Charlie finally cracks and decides to send Bella home if she doesn’t pick up. That’s wakes Bella up and decides to go out with her friend Jessica. But while she goes, she spaces out and makes Jessica very angry with Bella. It wasn’t a great night for Bella, but it worked for Charlie. One day, an old family friend, Billy, visits. Billy brings along his son Jacob and he is only a few years younger then Bella.
Bella decides that she is going to replace Edward with Jacob. And while she is hanging out with Jacob, Jacob suddenly discovers that he is changing into a werewolf. He tries to tell her as much as he can without betraying his pack. But while Jacob is with his pack, Bella wants to try something that she saw other people doing while she was hanging out with Jacob, cliff diving. Oh course, Bella does it and Alice, Edward’s sister, see’s her with her magic future seeing powers. Edwards other sister, Rosalie, who isn’t a big fan of Bella, tells Edward that Bella is dead.
But Bella is clearly alive. Edward doesn’t want to live his life knowing that Bella won’t be their, so he goes to get himself killed by the “king vampires”, the Volturi. Bella and Alice have to hurry and save Edward before it’s too late.

Homeless Bird
Book By: Gloria Whelan
Review By: Greta
In this 216 page book, 13 year-old Koly is getting married. But it’s not as good as it seems. She has to cook, clean, take care of the children, and has to do everything that her new husband says. But when Koly goes to meets her husband, Hari, he is sick and can only be out during the wedding.
Koly’s parents are furious that the boy is not what the parents had said, but leave her with her new family. Her mother-in-law is mean and makes her do hard work but her sister in law is kind to her and helps Koly as much as she can. But as Hari gets sicker, they take him to the Ghandi River to hopefully wash away his sickness. Sadly, that doesn’t happen and Hari dies.
Going back to her village, Koly goes back as a widow and her mother-in-law is meaner than ever now that her only son is gone. And when Koly’s only friends, her sister-in-law, is going to get married, Koly’s life turns from worse to horrible.
One by one, Koly’s new family unfortunately leaves her. But in the end, Koly finds a new life and leaves the life she once knew behind again.
This book is very well written and tells Koly’s story well. In her unbelievable story, she makes it through her life.

Ulster Project Delaware
By: Greta *******
When school lets out, you’re glad, but by July you have nothing to do. All of your friends are somewhere having fun while you’re just sitting there. But now, there is something for you to do; even in little Delaware.
UPD (Ulster Project Delaware) is an activity that brings Catholic and Protestant families together. Teenagers for Northern Ireland (the town of Portadown for 2009) come to Delaware for one month, July, and stay with a family that has a child their age. To participate in Ulster Project Delaware, you have to:
-Be 14 years through 16 years old
-Have finished 9th grade
-Turned in an application
-And hope you get accepted for only 18 people get picked (9 boys and 9 girls)
After you turn in your application, everyone’s application is looked over. Then your family and you are interviewed. The leaders decide if you can participate. My family has participated in this project for many years and everyone who has, has loved it. My uncle and aunt have done it and my two cousins have participated and they all wish they could do it again.
My cousin, Sean, just recently did UPD this past summer and he made so many friends. And the boy he got partnered with became his best friend. They had a blast. My other cousin who participated also loved his partner. I think they would marry each other if they could. My aunt and uncle also had many great times doing UPD.
During this activity, you take many trips with the other kids. You go to amusement parks, water parks, have picnics, go swimming, and have parties (or get-togethers) almost every night. I’ve gone to some of these events and they are a lot fun and I wish they could last forever; I loved them so much.
If you want to find out more information, go to the UPD website at: http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6vk7q/
